Network Services
eiNetwork provides comprehensive network connectivity to all county library locations. Our primary service areas include Wide-Area Network, Local Area Networks, Wireless Networks (public and private), and Cybersecurity.
Computer Procurement and Desktop Management
eiNetwork manages the PC procurement and equipment refresh program for all of the libraries. The desktop PC and laptop equipment at each library is replaced on a regular three-year interval to ensure that library staff and patron technology is always within its useful life and effectiveness. In addition, eiNetwork helps maintain configuration settings and security measures to help provide safe and stable computing experiences for library patrons and library staff.
Microsoft 365 and Email Services
eiNetwork manages and administers Microsoft 365 cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools including email, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams so library staff can collaborate and provide essential service to patrons. We also provide cybersecurity measures through Microsoft 365 Defender that natively coordinates detection, prevention, and response across endpoints, to provide integrated protection against sophisticated attacks.
Technology Support
eiNetwork provides an online Service Desk Portal for libraries to report incidents, make requests, and access a comprehensive knowledge base of library technology resources. Libraries also have dedicated Service Desk staff that respond to user needs, questions, and address emergency outages. eiNetwork serves as a technology resource to help libraries identify, evaluate, and implement emergent technologies to improve library operations throughout the county.
Library Applications
eiNetwork maintains and administers Sierra, a cloud-based, integrated library system by Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (iii). This system is an essential collaboration tool and shared database that serves as the primary system used to conduct the majority of the library’s public service. Sierra includes an online public catalog, or Discovery Layer. The catalog helps patrons search the entire library collection (including eBooks), place holds, renew items, and manage their library account online.
