Our Mission and Core Values

eiNetwork’s mission is to provide Allegheny County public libraries with an efficient and effective technology infrastructure that helps them expand and increase their impact, outreach, and service to their communities.

Leaders of Change

Change is a way of life which we embrace and encourage. We believe everything “good” can be “great” and that individually and collectively, eiNetwork is a leader of change. Through innovative and creative thinking, we enthusiastically and continuously ask the questions, “how can we do it better?” and “how can I improve?” Each of us is expected to go beyond our comfort zone and embrace the challenge of learning new things, and develop new solutions for technology services that enhance the libraries.

Lead and Deliver Excellent Customer Service

If you don’t listen to your customers, you will fail. But if you listen only to your customers, you will also fail. That’s why we call it leadership. eiNetwork’s set of customers and stakeholders is complex, and there are complicated interrelationships and sometimes competing interests. Each of us is responsible for navigating these complex relationships, and delivering superior value to help advance libraries and library service.

Demonstrates Passion

We value passion, determination, perseverance, and the sense of urgency. We are inspired because we believe in library service and see its value in our communities. We believe in what we are doing and we see our role as delivering technologies that advance library service.

Work Collaboratively with Directness and Integrity

We value integrity and collaboration in our interactions with all our stakeholders. We seek to build relationships of trust with all of our partners. We hold ourselves accountable to our co-workers, customers, and stakeholders by direct communication, honoring our commitments, providing results, and striving for the highest quality in all aspects of our work. We respect and honor the rules and ethics of the library profession as identified in the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association.
