Who We are

The Electronic Information Network (eiNetwork) is dedicated to providing shared technology services to 46 independent public libraries at more than 75 locations in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

eiNetwork was originally launched as a countywide collaboration in 1996 and incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit member organization in 2002 by the Allegheny County Library Association and the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.

eiNetwork is funded by the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) to provide technology services and support for the public libraries of Allegheny County through an efficient and effective technology infrastructure that helps libraries expand and increase their impact, outreach, and service to their communities. Core services provided to libraries by eiNetwork include a high-speed fiber network, PC management, shared bibliographic database and public online catalog, and Microsoft 365 services (email, file storage, and Microsoft productivity applications), among others.

eiNetwork also helps libraries leverage their resources to receive the maximum amount of Federal funding provided by the E-Rate program by assisting them in the annual application process.  eiN also files its own E-Rate application to receive federal funding for certain technology expenses.
