Fine Art Photography

Notice something different about our front windows and walls? The fine art photography of John C. Flatz is now being displayed at the library. This display will be until December 2009.

John is a talented local artist with a great eye for photographing "common" sites in our southwestern Pennsylvania area. John has a gift of making the "common" into something unique.

For more information on John and details on ordering his photography visit www.johnflatzphoto.com.

Pardon our dust!

Yes, it is true, there is lots and lots of dust in our little library. The rough work is coming to an end. But there is still lots more to do... painting, moving cabinets and a sink. Then we will be rearranging our offices and support areas. While the library itself is not expanding, we will have more room for storage and staff.

Funding for 2010...

The township is still debating our budget. Come to the meeting and let the township commissioners know that you support your library.

Our funding is provided in the following approximate percentages:

Township: 35%
State: 25%
County: 15% (RAD: Regional Asset District)
Fines, Fees, Grants, Donations: 25%

Note: The state has finally settled its budget for next year, 2010. Libraries will be taking at least a 20% reduction.

In all likely hood services will need to be modified to deal with the reduction in funds.

Renewing a book

Unable to put your library book down? Need some more time with it?

Not a problem. Usually....

Here's how to renew a book, video or other item that you checked out of the library.

You will need your library card number. Renewals can be handled several ways:

Go to "My Account" in The Catalog http://iiisy1.einetwork.net:2620/patroninfo/
Automated Phone Renewal
412.622.1895
Call us (your local library).

412.429.5380

(We do get busy, so you may want to save us as a last resort.)

If there is a HOLD/REQUEST on the item
(someone else wants it), or
the item is already overdue -
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RENEW YOUR ITEM!!

Usually it's not a problem to renew an item but if it's a popular item be aware that you may need to return it on time or pay a donation to the library.
