Your Public Library is in Danger

Contact your elected officials and tell them NO to library funding cuts!

PA Senate calls for 50% reduction in Funding for Libraries in the State Budget.

In response to Governor Rendell's proposed 2009-2010 budget cuts, the Pennsylvania Senate plans to introduce Senate Bill 850, which includes a devastating 50% funding cut for public libraries across the Commonwealth! If this proposal passes library facilities, hours, services, programming, materials and personnel will be drastically affected.

Libraries have never been busier. During this recession demand for library services across the Commonwealth are continually rising as more people search for jobs, families tighten their budgets and retirees grapple with shrinking savings.

The Library is here when you need us most. Please be there for us now!

We need your help to avoid devastating funding cuts for all public libraries. The damage sustained by public libraries and the community we serve would be irreparable if the proposed cuts in SB 850 stand. NOW is the time to make your voice heard!
