All Envisionware settings will remain the same – these settings are saved on the library site server and are controlled at the Management Console level - not at the PC level.
No-- you don't need to order a new monitor for the self check express station. The current self check express touch screen monitors were purchased in 2010. In the future, when the touch screen monitors fail, libraries will be responsible for purchasing a new one.
If the monitor is leased it will need to be replaced during PC deployment.
Any file(s) saved locally on your computer will be lost during PC Replacement. Any files that you wish to retain should be saved to the network, either in your personal home directory (P:\ drive), or under your library's district share. If you need help with this, please contact the help desk for assistance.

On deployment day, library specific software will not be available on your new computer. The EIN is working on a process to help libraries to reinstall library specific software post deployment. Please note that priority will be given to library financial and accounting software. More details will be forthcoming. In the meantime, libraries should:
• Verify that their current library specific software version is compatible with Windows 7. Please refer to the list of compatible software found on the portal webpage.
• Have a copy of the installation media and license key (if applicable) for the library specific software to be used for re-installation.

The current receipt printers and barcode scanners available on the Order Portal require USB ports. The laptops each have 4 USB ports for these devices so yes, libraries will be able to attach receipt printers and barcode scanners if they have USB connections. However it will not be possible to attach an older receipt printer or barcode scanner with a serial connector since the laptops do not have any parallel or serial ports.
