Mt. Lebanon Public Library is proud to offer the following services:

• Rotating materials collections for nursing homes and retirement centers
• Information through books, magazines, pamphlets and non-print materials concerning disabling conditions
• Book delivery by volunteers to qualifying homebound patrons
• Friendly staff members who are always willing to assist!

Overcoming Physical Barriers

• Wheelchair available for in-library use
• Wheelchair accessible meeting rooms, restrooms, study carrels, study rooms
• Aisles at least 36" wide
• Walkers with built-in seats and baskets for in-library use
• Elevator

Overcoming Visual Barriers

• Kurzweil Readers scan your material and read it aloud to you
• Optelec equipment magnifies your printed material and projects it on a computer screen in several choices of color schemes
• MAGic software enlarges computer software programs, Windows, and the Internet
• VoiceCAT reads the library card catalog
• JAWS reads the words on your computer screen
• Hand-held magnifiers for in-library use
• Oversized monitors
• Books on tape
• Large print books
• Braille books

Parking

Parking for disabled patrons is in front of the library on Castle Shannon Boulevard.  Disabled persons wishing to park in the rear of the building near the main entrance may do so.  Please note, however, that these spaces are at an 8% grade, which is too steep to be officially designated handicapped parking.  In either location, please display your placard.
