Storytimes

· Mother Goose Storytime

For children ages 2—3 1/2 with an adult

Mondays: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 4 p.m.  Thursdays: 11 a.m.
Through  November 20

 

· Pre-School Storytime

For children ages 3 1/2—6 years
Tuesdays: 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m.  & *
New session: 4 p.m. *
Now through November 18
 

· Baby Time

For children ages 6 months—2 years with an adult

Wednesdays: 10 & 11 a.m.   Thursdays: 9:30 a.m.

Through  November 20

 

· French Language Storytime

Stories, songs,  rhymes and fun in English & French.

For children ages 3—6 and their families.

Fridays, 10 a.m., September 26—November 21

 

· Chinese Language Storytime

Stories, songs,  rhymes and fun in English & Chinese.

For children ages 3—6 and their families.

Tuesdays, 9:15 a.m., October 7—October 28

 

· Sensory Storytime

Crafts, activities, stories, & songs for tots 18 months to 3 years old
 and their parents/caregivers. 
Participants must pre-register.

Please choose ONE of the following dates:

Monday, December 1, 10 a.m.  / Tuesday, December 2, 10 a.m.
 

 

· Sing, Sign & Play

Sign language for children taught with songs and activities.

For children ages 6 months to 4 years with a parent/caregiver.

This is a two session class. 

Please pre-register for 2 Monday or 2 Thursday sessions.

Thursdays, 10 a.m.—December 4 & 11

 
CHESS CLUB
 

Chess fun for children in kindergarten through grade 7. Learn to play or learn to play better!
Tuesdays, 6:30—7:30 p.m.
September 2 & 16, October 7 & 21,
November 4 & 18, December 2

FAMILY FUN
   

· Origami

Create paper masterpieces with simple folds. For children ages 6 and older and
their families.  Adults are welcome also!

Sundays , 2 p.m. /  October 12, November 9, December 14

 

· Nationality Night

Families  from other countries for whom English is a second

language are invited to this introduction to the library where they will
learn about the resources available here for all members of their family. 
There will be a storytime for younger children. 

Monday, October 27, 7 p.m.

 

· We’re Stitchin’!

Learn embroidery stitches while you work on a sampler you

create!  For children, ages 7 and up,  & adults.

Children ages 7—10 must be accompanied by an adult.
There is a $3.00 materials fee for this 3-week program.

Please pre-register. Saturday, November 1, 8, & 15– 10 a.m.

 

· Fright Night!

An after-hours library event for all ages.  Separate

 events will be held throughout the library for preschoolers,
school age children, & teenagers. 

Friday, October 24. 

The library will be open from 6:30—8:30  p.m. 

Look for a schedule of events at the library in October.

 

· Family Sing Along

Join Margaret Hooton and Bob Barnett for their annual

after-Thanksgiving family sing-along.  Musical fun

for children ages 4 and up and their friends and families.

· Holidays around the world

Bring your family and friends to the library to share stories, songs,
& treats that celebrate holidays around the world!  Enjoy a winter
puppet show too! For children ages 4 and up & their families.

Book Discussion Groups

·            Kidslit
For adults interested in children’s literature.
Meets the second Monday of the month, 7 p.m.
Meetings: September-November; January-June

·            Just for Guys
For boys, ages 10—13, & their fathers.
Meets the third Wednesday of the month, 7 p.m.
Meetings: September-November; January-
May

·          Girls Night Out
For girls, ages 10—13, and their mothers.
Meets the second Tuesday of the month,  7 p.m.
Meetings: September-November; January-May

          Kids’ Adventure Book Club
For kids in grades 2—4.
This club meets the first two Wednesdays of each month for book discussion,
fun activities and a special presentation.
Members must attend the first meeting to attend the
presentation at the second meeting.

              Book Buddies
A new book club for kids in kindergarten and first grade.
Read our book selection alone or with a grownup or friend
