Welcome to the Knowledge Connections

The Knowledge Connection became an agency of the Allegheny County Library Association in January 2000. Knowledge Connection on-site locations are in the communities of Mooncrest, (funded by the Township of Moon), and Mon View Heights, (funded by Allegheny Housing Rehabilitation Corporation). Each site is connected to the eiNetwork and contains a specialized library collection targeted to meet the needs of each community. We offer convenient high-speed computer and Internet access, after-school and summer programs, career and job searching assistance and full library services. The sites and staff provide safe and stable learning environments for children and adults within the communities.

Knowledge Connections Mobile Computer Lab Program is a Pilot program beginning in 2008. It presently serves the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh following communities: Allegheny Dwellings, Bedford Hope Center, Garfield Heights, Hamilton-Larimer, North View Heights, and St.Clair Village. We provide year-round Comprehensive Literacy programming, computer and Internet access, after-school and summer programs, and career and job searching assistance.

All of the Knowledge Connection programs provide young children in public housing communities with educational opportunities that are currently unavailable to them.
