Catch the Reading Bug

Register on-line after getting your packet at the library.

This summer buzz on over to the library to register for this year's reading club! There will be prizes, activities, and special events all summer for kids of all ages.

Storytimes / June 2-July 29

Monday 1:30 p.m.
Preschool - Ages 4-6

Tuesday 10:00 a.m.
Toddler - Ages 2-3
Listen to summer time stories and songs and make a fun craft. No registration required.

Book Babies

All the "baby bugs" are invited to listen to stories and songs and to play at the library. Registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Book Brigade

Any 4th and 5th grade students are invited to our book club. Registration is requested.

Summer 2008

Time-Out Tuesdays

Tuesdays are terrific at Whitehall Library. Join us for stories, games, crafts, and special guests.

• Children entering grades 1-2 (1:00-2:30)
• Children entering grades 3-5 (3:00-4:30)

Read To Therapy Dogs

Bring your favorite books or find one on our shelves to read to a friendly therapy dog. They're the best listeners, and they love the sound of your voice. Children ages 5 and up. Registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Fairy Party

Tinkerbell fans, this party's for you. Children ages 3-7 are invited to listen to fairy stories, eat fairy food, and make fairy crafts including a real fairy house. Registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Toy Sleepover and Breakfast

Sleepover: Wednesday, July 16, 6:00-8:00
Breakfast: Thursday, July 17, 9:30-10:00

When the children are away, the toys come out to play. Bring a toy to spend the night at the library. We will have popcorn and watch the movie Toy Story before putting the toys "to bed." You can then join us for breakfast the next morning and see how much fun your toy had. Registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Insect Investigators

Kids ages 6-8 are invited to create their own insect, compound eyes, and butterfly metamorphosis tube while listening to songs and other information about bugs. Presented by the Carnegie Science Center.

This program is limited to 25 participants, so registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Spiderman Party

Do whatever a spider can at our Super Spiderman Party. Children ages 3-7 are invited to listen to Spiderman stories, play spider games, eat spider food, and make spider crafts. Registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Sleepover Fun Workshop

What do you do on girls' night in? Want to make your sleepovers more fun? Kids ages 8-11 are invited to learn how to make cool crafts, food, games and more. Registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Luau Pool Party

Celebrate the success of summer reading club at our luau pool party. Children and families of all ages are invited to this event held at the Whitehall Pool. Light refreshments will be provided in addition to the cash snack bar. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required by calling the library or by email.

Mario Kart Mondays

Let's have some fun with Mario and friends. There will be 2 sessions:

Ages 5 - 7 * 1:00-2:30
Ages 8 - 11 * 2:30-4:00

Free. No preregistration will be taken. Registration begins 15 minutes prior to each session outside of the Library Multipurpose Room. Limited to 16 participants per session. Children not admitted will be given first priority for a later session of their choice.
