NEW BOOKS PURCHASED / DECEMBER 2009

NEWSPAPER ARTICLES:

WHITEHALL PUBLIC LIBRARY RANKED HIGH! With a score of 91%, Whitehall Public Library ranked among the top 25 Public Libraries in the State!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

We would like to thank all of our loyal patrons for submitting postcards on behalf of support for public libraries during the course of the Pennsylvania State Budget impasse. Over 300 postcards were mailed from Whitehall Library users!

Budget cuts were made, and that's hardly cause for celebration, however your voices were heard and the proposed 54% public library subsidy cut was reduced to 20.1%. Drastic cuts were made to programs funded through Library Access and the Electronic Catalog line items, so we must wait and see how those cuts impact the library.

We appreciate your voice and your support.
