Policies
Library
Doors are locked 10 minutes before closing. Also, the library will
be closed on major holidays and Sundays. If the Allegheny Valley School District
is closed for snow, the library will also be closed.
If you are in need of the library on Sundays, please visit the Oakmont Carnegie
Library as it is open from 1 - 4pm. The address for the Oakmont Carnegie Library
is 700 Allegheny River Blvd.
Computer Policy
Any resident of Allegheny County must be permitted access to the OPAC (under
the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult). The patron must have
a valid unencumbered (not suspended) library card to access the computer.
There is no limit to how long a patron may use the computer UNLESS there
is someone waiting for a computer to become available. If that is the case,
there is a 30 minute limit.
Computer print-outs are $.20 per sheet for black and white and $1.00 for color.

Copier Use
Charges are $.20 per page for copies. Payment should be made at the front desk.

Fines
Fines are charged on all overdue materials at the rate of $.15 per day
per item with the exception of videos and DVDs which are $1.00 per day.
The maximum fine shall not exceed the retail purchase price of the item.
Accumulated fines of $5.00 shall result in the suspension of all privileges;
borrowing all materials and computer use.
Charges for new cards are $2.00 for the first time and $5.00 for any replacement
card after the first.
Loan
General circulating book collection: 3 weeks
Best Sellers & holiday books: 1 week
Audio/Visual: Audiobooks & Music CD: 3 weeks
VHS/DVD: 1 week
Reference materials: 1 week
Magazines: 1 week
- There is a limit of 10 materials per person (which may include a limit of 5 videos/audios).
- Books may be renewed only three times.
- Cards must be presented to check out materials.
