Catch the Reading Bug
Please Bee our guest and sign up to find out what all the Buzz is about. Join our 2008 Summer Reading Program and discover the world of insects. There will be fun for the entire family. The weekly sessions will focus on reading, related activities, crafts, games and snacks. This year's children's theme is entitled , "Catch the Reading Bug", and the Teen theme is, "Metamorphosis @ your Library". The Summer Reading Program encourages children to read for pleasure throughout the summer while retaining their reading skills. Sign up begins May 1st. Children ages 4-12 may sign up for Tuesdays 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. or Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. Toddlers ages 3 and under will meet Tuesday morning only, at 11 a.m. Teen session begins Wednesday, June 18 grades 7 -9 meet at 5 p.m. 10-12 grades meet at 6 p.m. Adults may read and win prizes too. Watch the newspaper and website for special Summer Reading Program Events. The program will meet approximately one hour for 6 weeks and the first day is Tuesday, June 17th. The cost for the program is $1 per week. T-shirt orders are being taken now. This year the T-shirts will be personalized with the library name! Much planning and attention is given to this program. The library appreciates all the parent involvement, student volunteers, and business support from the communities. Donations of time, materials, and prizes are needed to make the program a success, please call if you would like to help support this worthwhile program.

New Saturdays
Next scheduled meeting May 17, 2008 Springdale Library is offering a new monthly Saturday Childrens program. The program will meet 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the 3rd Saturday of each month, for children of all ages. The general theme will be Animals from around the world; the May topic will be Animals from Antartica. Call the library to sign up.
