Vision :
The South Park Township Library's vision statement was developed as a means to measure the success and usefulness of itself within the community. This states that
“By 2010, we will double our overall circulation.”

Mission :
The South Park Township Library believes that this vision statement goes hand in hand with the following mission statement.

In pursuing its mission the South Park Township Library values:

1. The free and equal access to information, resources, and materials in traditional, technology, and innovative formats
2. The individual' s quest for lifelong learning of cultural enrichment and intellectual stimulation
3. The promotion of literacy activities and programs for all ages
4. The cultivation of a skillful and professional staff as they are our most valuable resource
5. The acceptance of diverse points of view and acknowledge trust and respect to all
6. The personal development and discovery, which enriches and empowers every patron
7. The individual's pursuit for computer proficiency
8. The acceptance of change in a positive way
9. The partnerships we ensue with local enterprises, interest groups, and other professionals at local, regional, and national levels
10. The ideas pronounced by the American Library Association (ALA) in the Library Bill of Rights, by the ALA and the Association of American Publishers (AAP) in the Freedom to Read Statement by the ALA and the American Film and Video Association (AFVA) in the Freedom to View Policy
