The Changing Hills This is a wonderful, high quality book titled The Changing Hills: A History of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. It came out in 1994-95 and reflects the work of many individuals. In 1984, the Penn Hills Council enacted an ordinance establishing the Penn Hills Historical Committee whose purpose was to research and preserve local history. Committee members worked on this and found financial support for printing this fascinating book. The book starts with the Native Americans who lived here and continues through Pioneer Life, Early Industries, Neighborhoods, Architecture, Churches, Founding Families and Penn Hills Institutions. Wherever possible, photographs have been included. This is a 115 page treasure trove of Penn Hills history, and it can be yours for $15, a real bargain.

The Changing Hills This is a companion piece to Volume One (above) titled The Changing Hills: A History of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania: Volume Two. The title says it all. The book is 68 pages and is basically an update to Volume 1 (above). It contains information that came in from all over Penn Hills as its citizens were reading Volume One. If you have Volume 1, you will really enjoy Volume 2 as a companion piece. Both books belong in every household in Penn Hills. The price is $15.

Penn Hills Library Bag Here's a great way to tell everyone that you are a Friend of the William E. Anderson Library of Penn Hills. This sturdy canvas bag will hold your books securely and is much classier than those old plastic bags. The bags are dark blue in coloring with white letters and are $10. The bag is a practical and attractive way to make a contribution to the Library.

History of Penn Hills Football This book is the History of Penn Hills Football 1937-2006. It was researched and compiled by Mike Birmingham. The book itself is about 8 1/2 by 11 inches and is spiral bound. "This book is an attempt to chronicle the results, scores, coaches and most importantly our players and to provide all who are interested a history of our Penn Hill's football seasons." The book is filled with statistics and some really great pictures. Any fan of Penn Hill's football will enjoy this book. The book costs $30 and is available at the circulation desk in the adult department.

Snowflake for SaleAlso for sale is a sparkling gold metal snowflake. At the center is the logo of the new library and the words "Wm.E.Anderson Library of Penn Hills". The snowflake is 3 1/4 inches square and is $8. You can string a pipe cleaner, metal ornament holder or clear thread and hang it on your Christmas tree or on a cabinet pull to celebrate the whole winter season while you support the new library. Ask to see it at the adult library.
