Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Penn Hills LIbrary is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing together people who are interested in the well being of the library. The Friends work to provide many extras for the library; items not included in the regular library budget. The Friends welcome gifts of time, money and materials from their members and the community. These donations are channeled into gifts that benefit the library and its patrons.
There are four officers in the organization. They are:- Barbara Girlardo, President
- Eileen Warner, Vice President
- Linda Himes, Secretary
- Sylvia Yurchison, Treasurer

Membership dues are paid at the time of registration. This can be done at the library or by mail with the address information described above. Make checks payable to Friends of the Penn Hills Library. Choose one of these membership categories:
- Individual $10.00
- Donor $50.00
- Family $25.00
- Patron $100.00
- Organizations/Associations $30.00
Book Sales
The major fund raising activity of the Friends are the Book Sales in the fall and spring. The sales are held in the Friends Room on the top floor of the library.
Donations are needed for the Book Sale! Gently used books, magazines (not readily available at the newsstand), pamphlets, CDs, records, videos, DVDs, puzzles and games are all great sale items. Bring donations to the library during regular operating hours. Come in the top floor door off the parking lot and leave your donations in the Friends book depository or at the Friends' door. This is the schedule for the Fall 2008 Book Sale:
Thursday, October 23 from 5 pm to 7 pm. This is the Presale for members of the Friends only.
Memberships are available at the door.
Saturday, October 25 from 8 am to 4:00 pm.
Sunday, October 26 from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. BOGO!
Monday, October 27 from 9 am to 8:00 pm. BAG DAY!
