The
Friends Of the Oakmont Library (FOOLs) is a non profit volunteer
organization founded in 1992. The mission of the FOOLs is to support the
Oakmont Library through the purchase of items not included in the regular
library budget. This support is made possible by membership dues.
Since its founding, the membership has purchased computers, encyclopedia
sets, a tv/vcr, and books, materials and equipment for cultural and
educational programs offered in the community for all ages.
Through past membership, the FOOLs were able to make a sizable contribution
to the library’s expansion. Annual membership can be as low as $5. Our
newsletter
contains an application for tax-deductible membership and is mailed to
members every April first. Also, forms can be picked up at the library
desk. This newsletter, along with a note card mailed every fall, keeps
the community up to date on present happenings and future events of our
library. Meetings of the Friends of the Oakmont Library take place
monthly at the Oakmont Library at 6:30 PM. All members and prospective
members are welcome.
Please contact the Oakmont Carnegie Library at 412.828.9532 for
the next meeting date and time..
