Funding

Founded in 1932, Mt. Lebanon Public Library is funded by the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon, with significant additional funding from the Allegheny Regional Asset District (ARAD) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The majority of the library's budget comes from the municipality.
In 1995 the library began receiving funds from ARAD.  Currently, ARAD funds
make up 29% of the operating budget.  In 2001 the state increased funding boosting their contribution to 12% of the annual budget.

In addition, various grants have been used to implement and supplement specialized programs and collections.

With our ARAD funds we purchase additional books, magazines and audio-visual materials, furniture and equipment, and hire additional part-time staff.
