Sun and ice cream bar Library Summer Hours

Summer hours began at Moon Library on Saturday, July 5th and they will run through Sunday, September 7th. The library now closes at 3 p.m. on Saturdays and we are not open at all on Sundays. Regular library hours will resume after Labor Day.


Summer Reading survey2008 Summer Reading Club Survey

Calling all parents whose children are currently participating in Summer Reading Club programs throughout Allegheny County. The SRC 2008 Planning Committee wants to know what you think about this year's programs so we are conducting an online survey. The results of this survey will be used to tailor future Summer Reading Club programs to your needs, so please take a few minutes to express your opinions. ZucchiniZucchini Cook-off 2008

Because our Zucchini Cook-off last summer was so popular, we're doing it again! This year's contest will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 1 p.m. If you would like to participate, please see our PDF Zucchini Cook-off 2008 information sheet for contest details and then register at the library circulation desk by Monday, August 4th.


Kids holding the EarthJoin the Green Club

Kids in grades 3 through 5 who are interested in helping to save the Earth are invited to join Moon Library's Green Club. The club will hold its first meeting from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th, and ongoing meetings will be held the first Saturday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m. At the first meeting, you will prepare a journal that you can use to record the things you learn and the things you will do to save the Earth. Please bring leftover items from around your house to decorate your journal including stickers, ribbon, wrapping paper, and nature pictures from old magazines. Reservations for the Green Club are being taken at (412) 269-0334. Please call today and join us in helping to save the Earth for a better tomorrow.


Bowling ball and pinsWii for Seniors

You've probably read about or seen the commercials for the Nintendo Wii video game system. You might even be asking yourself -- Why should kids have all the fun? Well, now YOU can have fun too! Seniors are invited to the library to play Wii on Friday, August 15th from 10 to 11:30 a.m. We'll bowl, play baseball, tennis, and golf, and maybe even box each other! Come and see what all the fun is about. Light refreshments will be provided. Please register for this program by stopping by the circulation desk or calling us at (412) 269-0334.


Scrapbooking suppliesSummer Scrapbooking Workshop

Kids entering grades 1 through 5 are invited to the library on Tuesday, August 19th from 10 a.m. to noon when Scapbooking by Inches will present a summer scrapbooking workshop. Each participant will create a butterfly-shaped mini scrapbook and they should bring 20-25 photos of special events in their lives to crop for their album. Registration is required for this program and there is a $10 materials fee for the program which is due at the time of registration.


Puppet showBack-to-School Puppet Show

Students entering kindergarten through grade 2 are invited to a back-to-school puppet show at the library on Tuesday, August 26th at 6:30 p.m. The show called "Don't Bug Me: Keeping Pesky Bullies Away" will be performed by the Bethel Park Library Puppeteers. Space for this program is limited, so please call the library now at (412) 269-0334 to reserve your spot.
