Pennsylvania Libraries Need Your Help!
Updated May 18: The Pennsylvania Senate has passed S.B. 850, which proposes funding cuts that affect public libraries for up to 50%. The proposal will now go before the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Please contact all your local representatives before June 1st and ask them to say no to S.B. 850! If the House passes the proposal, then many of the library services that we offer you will be negatively affected. We ask for your help in asking members of the Senate to reconsider their proposal. July is Anti Boredom Month. French philosopher and revolutionary Voltaire once quipped, "All kinds are good except the kind that bores you." July picked up the title of Anti Boredom Month when a parody institute known at the Boredom Institute started the trend. This is especially true with kids, who are furthest from homework at this time of the year and don't know what to do with themselves. But never fear! Peruse the links above and get some ideas on how to beat that boredom!
