Policies Book Return A book return is available for the convenience of library patrons. The book return may be used outside the library's normal operating hours. Internet and Electronic Resources The Lauri Ann West Memorial Library provides access to electronic resources, including the Internet. The library promotes and enforces responsible use of electronic resources for research and educational use. Electronic resources in the library are intended to provide patrons with convenient access to informational resources consistent with the mission and values of the public library. Patrons are asked to adhere to their legal and ethical responsibilities in the appropriate use of the Internet. Other Computer Resources Microsoft Word 2000, Microsoft Excel 2000, Microsoft Publisher 2000, and Microsoft Access 2000 are now available for public's use at all computers in the library. A variety of CD-ROM programs are also available on selected computers. Sharpsburg Specific Computer Usage Policy Library cards must be given to the staff prior to using a computer. Diskette Use Policy Diskettes used to save and download data from library computers must be purchased from the library. Diskettes are available for sale at the Reference Desk and the Circulation Desk. Price is $1.25 each. Diskettes may be stored at the library if future use is desired. Patrons may not use personal (non Library) diskettes in the Library. Documents are not to be saved to the hard drive. Photocopies and Printing A photocopy machine is located in the Reference Room. Photocopies are $.15 per page. Black and white print-outs are $.15 per page; color print-outs are $.25 per page. Printers are available on public access computers. Renewals Most items may be renewed once after their normal loan period expires. Renewals may be made over the phone, in person, or online with your library card. Items that are not renewed on or before the last day of a loan period will accrue extended use charges. Video Most videos may only be checked out to patrons 16 years of age or older and possessing an adult borrowing card. Children holding juvenile borrowing cards may only check out videos in the children's collection. Books
