The Green Tree Public Library Welcomes You

The Second Annual Green Tree Garden Tour
Step through the garden gates of your community at the Second Annual Green Tree Garden Tour on Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. This self-guided tour will present a rich mosaic of public and private landscapes, all bursting with summertime flora and fauna. The ten gardens on display will be as varied as the homeowners in and around Green Tree. Experience a bamboo oasis, see a train make its way around the "railroad garden" and try to find the hidden heart in one local backyard.
The tour is a joint fundraising effort of the Green Tree Garden Club and Green Tree Public Library.
Starting on Monday, June 29 and continuing until Saturday, July 11, tickets will be available for purchase at the library's front desk during regular business hours. Tickets cost $12 per person and are non-refundable. Both cash and checks (made payable to Green Tree Public Library) will be accepted.
At 9 a.m. on the morning of the tour, members of the Green Tree Garden Club will be stationed in the library's front lobby. Visitors can pick up any last-minute tour tickets and browse the assortment of used gardening books for sale.
Master the Art of Reading: Summer Reading Program for Adults
Master the Art of Reading this summer at the Green Tree Public Library and explore the worlds of art, books, and more. Get in touch with your creative side! The 2009 Summer Reading Program is open to ages 16 and older, and will run from June 8 and continue throughout the summer.
The more books your read and record, the better the chances of winning prizes in random weekly drawings. Also, remember to visit the calendar of events page to register for programs, book discussions, and more.

Express Yourself: Summer Reading Program for Teens
The library offers a separate Teen Summer Reading for those entering or already enrolled in middle school and high school. This theme this year is Express Yourself and it is all about the arts! The program begins on June 8. To register, click here.
Record any books, magazines, comics, etc. into your online book log. Each week, we will draw the name of one teen who has logged a book to win a $10 gift card. So, the more stuff you log, the better your chances of winning prizes!
Next, sign up for our weekly teen events by using our calendar of events page.
At the end of the summer, fill out an online evaluation for a chance to win the grand prize: six tickets to Kennywood and a limo to get there! Teens that participate in Teen Summer Reading are invited to the end-of-summer pool party, which is tentatively scheduled for August 11th. Those who come to the pool party will also receive a bag of cool prizes!
