Library Cards
A wealth of Knowledge
Your library card entitles you to borrow materials from any ACCESS PA sponsored
library in Allegheny County. What does this mean? If you don't see a particular
item here at our library-just ask. We can order the item from one of 64
other libraries. Your waiting time is typically between 3-5 days.
Your card is also your ticket to a wealth of information provided on the Internet
and from excellent databases that
are accessible through our website. All you need is your barcode number and your
PIN-which is automatically set up to be the last 4 digits of your telephone number.
How do I get a Card?
Cards will be issued after proof of identification has been shown and our policy statement
has been signed. Applications for children under age 18 require a parent
or legal guardian's signature and the signing individual will be held legally
responsible for the child's borrowed materials and internet use.
Library cards are free to residents of Allegheny County, out-of-town college
students residing in the county, and anyone with an ACCESS PA sticker on their
library card from another library.
