To those patrons accessing remotely from home,

If you have been experiencing access problems with the POWER Library, check the following browser compatibility checklist to resolve these problems. Any computer that accesses the POWER Library will need to be compatible with this list.

  1. Do not use spaces when you enter your library barcode number.

  2. Ensure that the browser is a compatible version:

Internet Explorer - version 4.5 or higher
Netscape Navigator - above version 4.5 but below version 6
If you are using Netscape 6.x as your browser, POWER Library does not support Netscape 6.x.

    To upgrade your browser -

    1. Go to http://www.powerlibrary.net/
    2. Click on "Updating Your Browser"
    3. Follow the instructions for the browser of your choice

  3. Ensure the browser is set to accept all cookies (per-session and permanent). Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6.x is not set by default to accept cookies.

If you are using Internet Explorer 6.x as your browser -
    1. In Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS
    2. Click on INTERNET OPTIONS
    3. Click on the PRIVACY tab
    4. Move the PRIVACY SLIDER to LOW
    5. Click on APPLY
    6. Click on OK
    7. This will enable IE 6 to accept POWER Library cookies.
You should then be able to access the POWER Library databases.

If you are using Internet Explorer 5.x as your browser -

    1. Choose Tools, then
    2. Internet Options.
    3. Click the Security tab,
    4. Click Internet, then Custom Level.
    5. Scroll down to Cookies and choose one of the two options.

If you are using Internet Explorer 4.x as your browser -

    1. Choose View, then
    2. Internet Options.
    3. Click the Advanced tab,
    4. Scroll down to the yellow exclamation icon under Security and choose one of the three options to regulate your use of cookies.

If you are using Netscape as your browser -

    1. Click on EDIT
    2. Click on PREFERENCES
    3. Click on ADVANCED in the left column.
    4. In the right side box click on the box to the left of either
      • - "Accept all cookies" or
