The mission of the Environmental Information Center is to
educate and empower citizens to become self-directed, continuous learners and
environmentally aware citizens prepared to meet the increasing challenges of a
world impacted by science, technology and the increasing sociological demands on
our natural environment.
Our Profile
The Center is located on
the first floor, to the right of the main lobby of� the Sewickley Public
Library. The Center is a gathering site for research, providing the opportunity
for exploration. This inviting area encourages recreational and pleasurable use
of environmental resources. Instilling love for an unspoiled natural environment
and the importance of reading about its characteristics is a
priority.

| A pamphlet and a newsletter file to provide
current information on the variety of Pennsylvania environmental topics |
| An Events Calendar as a source for citizens to
identify resources and activities and events across Western Pennsylvania.
Citizens will be able to find workshops, informal programs, conferences and
volunteer opportunities. Environmental organizations from Sewickley will be
invited to post their events on this monthly calendar.This calendar is
currently being constructed by Slippery Rock University. |
